ZAP is an electric vehicle manufacturer based in California. The company's name stands for Zero Air Pollution (ZAP). They call the cars they make "ZAP cars". The cars are spartan, when it comes to creature comforts, but people who choose them are choosing to step out of the lap of luxury, and into a reality that thinks about Earth's future. 1. Gas Free Car

The ZAP car is an electric car, not a hybrid. It runs on an electric motor driven by battery power. You charge it up at night, and get a local-commuter type of range out of it in the morning.
